Welcome to my On the Prowl page! This is a really fun group where we learn about hunting. Of course, most indoor kitties (like me) hunt inanimate objects....but it's still hunting! We write essays on hunting tips, tell about our experiences, about how we would teach young kittens how to hunt and much more. Sassy recommended that I join this group and I am so glad that I did!

Well, lookie here! I've earned my own mousies (ha ha Sassy)! Wow, I made it to level 4 already :)

Here is my project for August. We wrote a story from the view point of our prey.:

As I landed on a tree to rest from my long flight and have a meal of bugs, I seen this little black cat silently stalking around the tree. I figured I was safe since I was so high up and on a small branch, so I continued to eat. The next time I looked around this little black cat was at the other end of the tree branch I was on. The cat wasn't moving, just laying there staring at me. I flew to another branch but that darn cat followed me. As I took off for the last time, to go to another tree, this black cat raised her paw and caught my wing. Oh no, now I was hurt and couldn't fly very well! The cat came closer and closer, only slower now since I couldn't get away. I tried running but the cat was so fast! Finally I gathered my courage and jumped to the ground. The cat followed but then a human came out and grabbed the kitty and took it into the house. Oh my, what a close call!

Here is my 2nd project for August. We were to write a story about what we would do if we were stranded on an unchartered island.:

If I were stranded on an uncharted island I would spend my time there hunting and relaxing. I would pretend that I was a panther and hunt some fun and unusual prey, such as lizards, different species of birds, bugs, and rodents. It would be hard making it on my own, but I would use my kitty smarts to survive! I'm an exellent hunter so eating would not be a problem. However, it would be furry lonely and I would miss my family so I'd have to find a way off of the island, even if it meant swimming!

Here is my October project. We were to write about what we would do in a school yard.:

Sassy told me they used critters for biology experiments, so of course those would be on the top of
my list. I also think it would be fun to chase the chalk and erasers around the classrooms. Not to
mention shredding all of the text books, that's always fun! I'd get lots of attention and treats from all of the students and teachers, who couldn't resist my kitten charm :)

Our project for October/November was to write about how our mouse would dress up for Halloween to try and hide from us. We also had to submit a picture of the mouse. Here's mine:

My mousie dressed up as a witch to try and scare me. He hid in a dark corner all day and finally came out during the night and told me that he was going to turn me into a d*g! Well, it didn't take me long to figure out that this was my furry mouse, so I laughed at him and turned him into lunch..MOL!
